Painting of muse Peggy Moffitt wearing a monokini

Muse Peggy Moffitt

From $550.00Sale Price

My new art featuring Peggy Moffitt an iconic model whose unique looks and signature style epitomized 1960s fashion.

Peggy became the muse of fashion designer Rudi Gernreich who designed this topless bikini. Peggy wore this Monokini on the cover of Women’s wear daily in 1964.

I loved creating the juxtaposition of the electric red and the rich olive green and adding a rich feel with a dusting of glimmering gold.

Interesting fact. Although 3000 were sold only two were worn in public with one of those women being arrested!

I loved the story and I hope I captured the essence of this moment perfectly!
