Getting Strong Now

Getting Strong Now

“Getting Strong Now” sound on! My new painting of Sylvester Stallone from his hit movie “Rocky” This art shows a triumphant Rocky in all his glory! The American Flag shines as it is embellished with Diamond Dust!

Such an inspiration! Two years ago I broke my right shoulder. When my arm came out of the sling, I couldn’t move it at all! No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t lift my arm from my side. I had what is known as “frozen shoulder”, a very painful condition that happens when your arm is in a sling for a long time.

A very scary experience as it was my painting arm. I started drawing with my left hand, just in case.

I did my physio workouts 3 time’s a day which amounted to 5 hours a day, every day for 6 months, just to be able to lift my arm. I’d walk then do physio, then swim, then physio, then walk and one more physio workout, it was excruciating and hard. As I was doing this the theme song from “Rocky” played loudly in my mind. I was a fighter and there was no way I was going to let anything stop me! The incredible movie and the brilliant theme song by Frank Stallone was an inspiration!

It took a year and a half to get it to the point that I could now start doing strengthening exercises. For the past 5 months I’ve been getting up a 5am and going to a workout class. I was feeling so strong! So I created this art to celebrate !

9 weeks ago ... oops I did it again! 😉 I broke my left shoulder! The timing was perfect with all this forced isolation as I couldn’t go anywhere anyway 😉 ha ha

After 7 very painful weeks, I’m humming the Rocky theme song again!

Without a frozen shoulder, THIS time my recovery will be much faster! I did my first strengthening workout yesterday and I’m feeling strong now, kinda 😉 but I know I’ll get there fast thanks to the inspiration from ROCKY!

Best thing is, I can already paint!

I hope this art brings you inspiration to overcome and get through any challenge thrown your way!
